The Bahrain Society of Engineers, in association with Selas Fluid Processing, will present the GCC Countries Hydrocarbon Processing
Technologies Conference from March 9th through the 12th, 2008 at the Gulf Hotel, Kingdom of Bahrain. Highlighting the meeting is
plenary speaker and conference patron Abdulkarim J. Al-Sayed, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO).
Engineers, operators, and other personnel in the hydrocarbon processing and environmental technologies industries and students are
encouraged to attend.

The conference will provide an overview of the heat processing technologies used in hydrocarbon processing plants, including steam hydrocarbon
reformers, refinery heaters, thermal oxidizers, and olefin pyrolysis furnaces.

CONFERENCE PATRON Abdulkarim J. Al-Sayed Chief Executive Bahrain Petroleum Company
Currently holding the position of Chief Executive of Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO), Mr. Al-Sayed began his career with BAPCO in 1965.
In 1981 he was appointed as Manager of Power & Utilities and was subsequently promoted to General Manager of Engineering, Maintenence, Refining, Engineering Projects
and Senior Deputy Chief Executive.
Mr. Al-Sayed completed his B.Sc and M.Sc in mechanical engineering/thermal power from the University of London, and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma from Imperial College, London. He is a registered Chartered Engineer and member of
various institutions and societies.
